Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
In the centre of Đakovo, in the pedestrian zone near the Cathedral, there is a small, charming wine shop and tasting room, whose owner Tanja Spajić had a clear vision of how it should look and what was the message she wanted to convey. She opened it in 2024 with her sister-in-law to present to the lovers of top quality wine the best of Istria, Dalmatia, Slavonia and Baranja. In about fifty square metres, you can taste, for example, wines from Ipša, Kozlović, Rožanić, Krauthaker, the wines from Enosophija and Royal Hill wineries, and the wines from the local Apostol winery from Trnava. The numerous tourists from all over the world who visit Đakovo can get a complete insight into the wine offer in Croatia. Guided tastings are available but must be announced in advance, especially if larger groups are involved. The wines can be served with a platter of cheeses, homemade cured meats, top-quality olive oils, and the products from small private modern distilleries. There is also a selection of the best Slavonian sparkling wines. The name Bačva (barrel) is reminiscent of old oak barrels – one of them is in the tasting room and four are on the terrace - where visitors can sit and indulge in the flavours of Croatian wines.
