Winery presentation by Gault&Millau

You should start the visit to Vina Belje in the vineyards, at the viewpoint on Banovo Brdo, surrounded by millions of grapevines. Their prestigious wines are produced in the modern winery, which covers an area of 10.000 square metres. A special attraction is the landscape made up of 564 hectares of vineyards, with an eight-kilometre-long winding wine road ideal for walking or cycling. With prior notice, you can also visit the old cellar, first mentioned in 1526 in the reports of the Battle of Mohács. This is the largest gator (underground wine cellar) in Baranja, on three floors and 1.200 square metres. The barrels made of Slavonian oak from the Spačva Forest give a special value to the place. There are also a tasting room and a rich wine archive with 20 thousand wine samples, and the oldest wine dates back to 1949. Vina Belje, with three centuries of tradition, divided into the Select, Premium and Goldberg lines, have won numerous gold medals at the Decanter, Mundus Vini, Berliner Wine Trophy, IWC and Concours Mondial de Bruxelles competitions. Their flagship is Graševina, but Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot and especially Blue Frankish are also doing well. They have three excellent sparkling wines - La Belle Grand, La Belle Rosé and La Belle Perla.
