Winery presentation by Gault&Millau

The Galić winery in the Kutjevo region is synonymous with new trends in winemaking, and their top-quality wines have been awarded at the world’s largest competitions. The family winegrowing and winemaking tradition was started by Rudolf Galić, who had 300 vines back in Mamići in Bosnia and Herzegovina. It was continued by his son Stjepan, who bought the first vineyard on the slopes of Požeška gora with his wife Ankica in 1970. Their son and current owner, Josip Galić, helped in the family business as a seven-year-old boy - and fell in love with it. Today’s winery covers an area of 3.300 square metres, and its superb architecture is immediately noticed on the main street in Kutjevo. Through the glazed arches, you can see the cellar with wooden barrels, where they store the wine obtained from 60 hectares of hand-picked vineyards on several wine-growing sites. There is an elegant wine bar and a modern tasting room. You can have a guided tour of the winery whose most important varieties are Graševina, Chardonnay and Pinot noir, and the most intriguing is the luxurious line of sparkling wines Code, which ferment to the sounds of music.
