Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
Wines and vineyards have been since 1992 a professional challenge for the agricultural engineer and oenologist Vlado Krauthaker. Today, the Krauthaker family owns 45 hectares of vineyards in the best locations – on the southern slopes of Krndija, from Podgorje to Hrnjevac and Mitrovac to Kutjevo – and also purchases grapes from subcontractors from their sixty hectares. His focus is on organic production, primarily of Graševina, and then also Rhine Riesling, Chardonnay, Sauvignon, Pinot Gris and Pinot Noir, Zelenac, Blue Frankish, Portuguese blue, Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon and Zweigelt. His family home has a rustically decorated tasting room, a cellar and a rich wine cellar - a place for socializing and meeting other winemakers, for wine education and, of course, for tasting the Krauthaker wines. He produces around 600.000 litres of wine annually, and the old and new cellars can hold a million litres. In addition to Croatia, Krauthaker’s wines are sold in 17 countries, including the USA, Russia, France, Germany and the Benelux countries.
