In a region where food is never quite spicy enough, Matko Maltar from Belišće saw an opportunity. What began as a personal passion for chili peppers grew into the brand Slavonsko zlo (Slavonian Evil). His goal was to share his passion for spicy flavours and create his own recipes, adding another layer of taste to dishes. Founded in 2018, the farm produces a range of chili sauces and spice blends using locally sourced ingredients. From classic sauces to intensely hot seasonal editions, their products are widely used in both home kitchens and top restaurants, adding bold new dimensions to traditional dishes. For example, the “Original” sauce contains chili, homemade carrots, onions, garlic, apple cider vinegar, a bit of water, and spices. Their hot sauce for fish stew is so good and natural that top restaurants gladly use it. They also offer spice blends for barbecue, chicken, potatoes, and vegetables, special online packages, and each season at least one or two lines of “extremely” hot sauces. But that is the only kind of “evil” you need to enjoy the flavors you love.
