Oil mill ZIGANTE BUŽA is a mono-varietal extra virgin olive oil from the indigenous Istrian variety Buža. It has a green colour, intense fruitiness, and medium bitterness and spiciness, and the taste and aroma are dominated by green almonds, artichokes, and aromatic herbs. A true harmonious sensation! Zigante Buža is the best addition to pasta with truffles and boškarin cheeks (the meat of the autochthonous Istrian cattle) and it also enhances some sweet flavours – such as walnut ice cream. Zigante has five extra virgin olive oils from the indigenous varieties Buža and Istrian bjelica, from the introduced varieties Leccino and Frantoio, and a specific Premium Blend that is created by mixing top-quality mono-varietal oils in secret proportions. The result is this exceptional, unique oil with a lot of harmony in the taste. The olive groves of the Zigante family company are located in Kostanjica near Grožnjan and in Plovanija. The combination of fruits from these two locations gives a first class mix ready to be transformed into top-quality olive oils. They are also known for their excellent wines and numerous truffle products, which they process and preserve in their own factory in Plovanija. All their products are available in their shop in Livade as well as in the Zigante chain of stores throughout Istria.
