Chefs Zlatko and Stipe Marinović have opened a new restaurant, Triton, at the Radisson Blu Hotel in Split
Under the slogan "new place, old witness", celebrated Croatian chef Zlatko Marinović on Thursday officially opened the doors of his new restaurant Triton, which is located in the prestigious Radisson Blu Hotel in Split. The Chef has thus begun a new chapter in his rich career dedicated to Croatian, but mainly Dalmatian cuisine, which he has promoted for decades around the world. Unlike the small, legendary restaurant Noštromo, just next to the Split fish market, where he has been for more than 20 years, the new restaurant has an imposing interior, or a terrace with a breathtaking view. Triton's right hand man is the young, talented chef Stipe Marinović.
"Wehave opened the Triton in the former Radisson Hotel restaurant, the former Capers, which will be run by our hero and uncle. Nakon prodaje Nostroma svi su očekivali da ću stati s poslom, ali za mene je ovaj novi izazov prvenstveno potreba da još više educiram moga Stipe.Tko uistinu živi kuchju, je živi je cijeli život pa tako i ja. Maybe I could have slowed down the pace a little, but not to go into a bigger culinary adventure than the Nostromo, or when this space was offered to me and when the unuk and I saw it, there was a soulfulness to which I could not be indifferent. We said, 'Let's go for it! And so it was. Danas smo tu i sada samo treba raditi nejlepší što znamo", concluded Zlatko. Young Stipe spoke at the end of the debate: "I am very excited, because it is a new experience. In Nostromo I took my first real culinary steps, even in the first grade of secondary school, and it will always be a dear success. But this is a new challenge, an opportunity that not everyone gets, and something that a young chef like me can only wish for."
Marinovići will present his distinctive dishes at Triton, but the tastes, flavours and sights of Dalmatia will also be presented to guests in a more sophisticated way, so that both the guests and the hosts can enjoy their senses. The restaurant, however, should not be reserved for hotel guests only. The fusion of tradition and modern cuisine, the fusion of the experience of the young and the youth of the young, are recognised in their dishes, which send the richness of Dalmatian past to new reaches of culinary future.
