Thanks to his caring assistance, everyone feels like they are the most important and gladly accepts his advice on food and drink choices. And his excellent knowledge of Istrian cuisine and the ability to communicate are his main qualities. Many years of experience and a refined "nose" help him to always be in the right place at the right time. Cordial with everyone, he knows exactly when to come to your table to check if everything is okay and pour wine when your glass is empty. Robi Rojnić is one of the important levers of Vikings and proof that this is not just a restaurant, but a family tradition and values. These are the beliefs he has always shared with the Matošević family, the owners of the restaurant that recently celebrated its sixtieth anniversary. Together, they witnessed the transformation of a former small inn into a renowned restaurant that has grown into an unavoidable Istrian gastronomic destination. Born in Pula, Robi now lives in the small village of Salambati near Svetvincenat, a quiet place in the interior of Istria. He loves life in the countryside and in his free time he is dedicated to the family estate. A football lover, he was the president of the Smoljanci Sloboda club for many years, and he is also active in the local hunting club. In the restaurant, his role is crucial, because he is the one who connects the kitchen and the hall, who approaches every table with a smile on his face and contributes to the satisfaction of the guest. And this is where his personality and his dedication to this demanding job, which he performs with innate ease, come to the fore.
