Chef's Restaurant
Although Tomassino works as part of the Sheraton Hotel, it is not a classic hotel restaurant. First of all, Tomassino has a separate entrance from the street, which is much more pleasant for guests who do not want to go through the hotel lobby. The interior of the spacious restaurant, dominated by brown colors with red notes of comfortable sofas, is very pleasant, and the staff is extremely friendly and professional. The urban business model developed under the watchful eye of the famous chef Jeffrey Vella, executive chef of all restaurants of the Maistra hotel group, to which the Zagreb Sheraton belongs. Today, everything works flawlessly even when Vella is not present. Tomassino mainly offers dishes inspired by Italian cuisine, and the menu changes seasonally. They also have several pizzas. In the summer, you can order burrata with figs, or roasted zucchini with ricotta and toasted almonds. Our mussels, prepared in their own juice with light Malvasia and pepper, served with warm red onion and rosemary focaccia, were very tasty. We also liked the risotto with prawns, and even more the veal risotto with young porcini mushrooms, full of flavor, with soft pieces of meat and garnished with thin slices of fresh porcini mushrooms. We rounded off the lunch with a refreshing strawberry and basil sorbetto. At Tomassino, they have a good selection of sparkling wines and wines by the glass, and the staff will be happy to recommend what best suits the chosen dish. The quality of the dish and affordable prices are an additional reason for a warm recommendation.
