Gourmet Restaurant
A favourite spot for lovers of fiš-paprikaš (fish stew) and other freshwater fish dishes, Čarda is located at the very exit of Osijek, just after the bridge toward Baranja. Fiš-paprikaš is prepared there in the traditional way, in a cauldron over an open fire, so guests can watch it slowly simmer. Another well-known dish is fish perkelt (stew), and the menu also includes portioned pike-perch, Baranja-style carp, and marinated dried deverika (a fish from the carp family). For carp enthusiasts, we recommend starting with juicy, crispy carp chips as an appetizer, followed by lightly smoked carp and then grilled. The restaurant’s offering is complemented by its rustic interior – red-and-white checkered tablecloths and window curtains, retro light fixtures, garlands of dried peppers on the walls, and photographs from bygone times. A spacious terrace, enclosed with glass in winter, and a lovely garden provide a pleasant setting throughout the year. The drink selection features local wines, predominantly white, as well as homemade fruit brandies, alongside a standard range of non-alcoholic beverages. Čarda, ideal for family gatherings and celebrations, offers an authentic Slavonian gastronomic experience – at affordable prices.
