BioMania bistro in the centre of Bol and its street food stall on Croatia’s most famous beach, Zlatni rat, offer vegan dishes, made from organically grown ingredients - from their own garden and from proven family farms. With the title of top vegan/vegetarian restaurant according to various gastronomic guides, BioMania bistro is not just a place to eat, but a space where a group of enthusiasts led by the founder Dario Kožul promotes sustainable, plant-based cuisine and shows how it can also be nutritious and full of flavour. This is proven by their complete menu, from which we recommend the mung bean omelette with seasonal vegetables, fresh salsa and cashew sauce for breakfast; the BioMania burger is great for summer lunch, as it is a bean, beetroot and chickpea-based patty, which is given a convincing flavour by a baconish spice mix. For drinks, they offer freshly squeezed juices, smoothies, kombucha and energy shots, as well as selected wines, sparkling wines and several signature cocktails. BioMania on the island of Brač is only open during the tourist season, while their main branch in Zagreb is open all year round.
