In the centre of the historic city of Rovinj and on the edge of the old town you will find the restaurant Brasserie Adriatic in the classic Hotel Adriatic. The beautiful terrace of the restaurant looks - on the left - at the square with the Venetian clock tower, and - on the right- at the port for local fishermen and small boats. The area is usually very busy, especially during weekends and public holidays when it becomes the centre of local festivities. Therefore, it might be nice to escape inside where you find yourself in a comfortable and calm dining area. Whether you are enjoying lunch, a drink, or coffee, Brasserie Adriatic offers an atmosphere that places you at the heart of an elegant Mediterranean setting. The cuisine of Brasserie Adriatic is classical but modern with a selection of traditional Istrian dishes with a slight emphasis on fish, scampi and sea food although there is an ample choice of meat dishes. You will recognise the influence of the French cuisine. Here you can order the classic escargots beurre d’ail et fines herbes (snails), the soup Vichyssoise, the boeuf bourguignon and the sweet lemon éclair. The personnel are friendly and efficient. We started our lunch with a minestrone full of seasonal vegetables. We chose as main dish the sea bass fillet with bouillabaisse sauce and with spinach and potato casserole as side dish. The sea bass was very juicy and the sauce perfectly seasoned. The vegetables rounded off the taste of the dish. The Brasserie has an excellent wine list, and we chose a great Malvazija by Benvenuti.
