The small bistro on the Dolac (city’s main market) plateau is a proven address when you want to go for a quality breakfast or brunch. Although you have to wait for a table on weekends, it doesn’t seem to bother those standing in line because everyone knows that the food and coffee are excellent. The chef Klara Bertek Jelisić is in charge of the kitchen and with each new gastronomic creation she shows more and more original ideas. Her dishes are vegan and vegetarian - seasonal, delicious and rich, so here you won’t be hungry after a brunch. Since the Dolac market stalls moved from the plateau to Splavnica and Pod zidom, the view from the bistro’s terrace is no longer as exciting, but the tables on the terrace on warmer days are still worth the wait. In addition to the classics that Broom 44 has been serving for years (avocado toast, omelette, vegan soparnik, bruschetta with various spreads) they put new dishes on the menu every season. For example, at the beginning of winter, they introduced a katsu tofu sandwich with spring onion mayonnaise, pickled vegetables and tahini paste, celery kebab and homemade pasta in tomato sauce. There are always a few desserts on offer, they serve exclusively organic wines, and specially roasted coffees with almond, soy and oat milk.
