It is worth repeating a historical detail about Fort George, or Fort George III because this is precisely what adds value to the overall experience. It is located on the top of a hill above the town of Vis, with a beautiful view of the Bay of Vis and the surrounding islands. Built in the early 19th century by British soldiers, the fortress once served as a strategic control point for the bay, and today the visitors can enjoy an unforgettable view of the Adriatic Sea. The sunset from the panoramic terrace is especially enchanting, so it is not surprising that the space has become a favourite destination for a dinner, a cocktail, but also for celebrations and weddings. The restaurant combines tradition and modern international cuisine, with an emphasis on local and seasonal ingredients. The menu is not extensive and offers something for everyone, with a special focus on seafood specialties, while desserts include creative and eye-pleasing fruit and chocolate delicacies. The wine list contains domestic and foreign labels that beautifully accompany the menu, and the cocktail selection is also excellent. During the season, it is recommended to reserve a table, as the popularity of the location and good food attract numerous visitors, and the professional and friendly personnel ensure a pleasant stay in this unique space.
