Gault&Millau's review 2026

Gudin Pigeria is located in Split’s Pazar (market) in the atmosphere of busy everyday life, while at the same time entering the world of this unique street food place, you can experience the slow lifestyle of the local population. The concept of street food at markets is not that widespread in Croatia and this was the guiding principle of the owner, who wants to bring this global trend closer to his guests and provide an unforgettable experience. Served on the big stone tables, the entire menu of Gudin Pigeria is based on pork meat, from the morning offer to the menu available throughout the day. They managed to turn this relatively humble ingredient into a very tasty offer. The main hit is the black Slavonian suckling pig that you have to order in advance, but also the pork Bajadera (pork belly cube), so juicy and soft with one of the crispiest crusts we have ever tasted. The small pig and the ćevapi (small rolled mince meat patties) are not far behind. They serve a kimchi as side dish that gives the right balance of flavours. In the second house next to the terrace there is a bar, where they make interesting cocktails, and serve craft beers. They also have a selected list of locally produced wines chosen by the sommelier, who is also the owner, Mladen Livaja. Affordable prices for a very filling and tasty meal are certainly an additional motive for visiting this interesting and different restaurant. They are open all year round, with the exception of January, when they go on vacation.
