Gault&Millau's review2026
A visit to the Josić restaurant and winery is always an exceptional experience – not only for the outstanding food but also for the tasting room, styled like a vintage living room. Here you can taste wines made from authentic Baranja grape varieties, stored in the 1955 wine cellar. In addition to the restaurant, owner Damir Josić has opened an impressive new winery. The result is a successful blend of tradition, modern technology, and top-notch gastronomy, set in a location surrounded by stunning nature and vineyards. The execution and presentation of the dishes are at a fine-dining level, but with more generous portions. Thanks to the proximity of the Danube, fish is always featured on the menu, though the house specialties are meat dishes. Examples include perkelt (stew) and duck confit, wild boar or venison stewed with vegetables, mushroom sauce, and hunter’s dumplings, as well as slow-roasted lamb shank. Don’t miss exceptional starters Foie Gras in cognac, and risotto with marinated smoked carp. The aromatic black pig fillet with confit potatoes and parsnip sauce offers a rich palette of flavours, as the modern cakes made from carob and white chocolate with cherry topping. With the dishes of the young and ambitious chef, a top sommelier will recommend the perfect wine from Josić’s winery for each course, all accompanied by pleasant instrumental music. Pets are welcome, and for children they have specially designed small dishes.
