The restaurant Kaiser is located outside the city centre, in the immediate vicinity of the Zagreb Hippodrome. Although the exterior may not be attractive at first glance, don’t let that discourage you, the pleasantly decorated interior immediately removes all doubts, and the seriously good food leaves you looking forward to return. The restaurant has become recognizable since it was taken over and run by one of the best and most influential Croatian sommeliers, Mario Meštrović, who, along with a serious approach to food, has also introduced a top-notch wine list with carefully selected wines for impeccable pairing. The offer is truly wide, on the menu you will find a multitude of meat dishes, including several types of the famous Wagyu beef, but also a rich selection of fish specialties, from Adriatic squid to poached fish that depends on the daily catch. In addition to the à la carte offer, daily dishes and very affordable brunches are also available every week, which makes this restaurant an excellent choice not only for a gourmet meal but also for an everyday business lunch with an excellent price-quality ratio. The professional and educated personnel further enhance the overall impression. In addition to food recommendations, they will also competently advise you on the ideal wine to pair with it. We highlight a few of our favourites: the excellent beef cheek pašticada (braised meat), the fish, clams and prawns gregada (a fish stew that they also prepare in a single portion), the perfectly seasoned steak tartare, and the fried baby cuttlefish in olive oil. Whether you come for the fish, meat, or a good glass of wine, here you will get more than you expect every time, with consistently high quality and fair prices. It is recommended to reserve a table.
