Selected
Mlinček is at the same time a neighborhood café, brunch bistro, wine and cocktail bar, deli shop, but also a space for concerts, workshops and various pop-up events. The concept was designed by sisters Tuga and Dora Zane and Dora's husband, Frenchman Quentin Lacoint, so it combined French bistro culture and Zagreb's neighborhood lifestyle. Mlinček profiled itself through simpler dishes and snacks intended for sharing, with specialty coffee, wines and cocktails. The menu is short, but varied enough to cover breakfast, brunch and a lighter lunch - and the current offer includes scrambled eggs and toast with ham and cheese, French toast with fruit, tacos with chicken (for those who want a more filling meal), quiche and banana bread (already an almost unavoidable part of the offer of modern specialty coffee and brunch bars). All this leaves the impression of food that is not intended as a reason for a formal restaurant outing, but as a natural continuation of coffee, a glass of wine and socializing in a charming space with a large garden terrace in Zagreb's Črnomerec. Mlinček is located not far from Lauba, in a part of the city that has been flooded with new residential buildings with a younger generation of tenants in recent years. They are also the audience at events that are organized in the bar throughout the year - from jazz evenings and children's performances to themed tastings and flea markets. Thus, Mlinček does not build its value only on what comes on the table or in the glass, but on the idea that a good neighborhood restaurant should bring the community together.
