Although hidden within the maze of narrow streets of Mali Lošinj, Konoba Corrado is a well-known and respected restaurant run by the Morin family, who has been offering excellent Adriatic fish and Kvarner scampi since 1988. The owner and head chef is Igor Morin, a passionate spearfisherman. Together with his wife Katica, the manager of the tavern he always ensures a selection of first-class fish and seafood. The beautiful stone building, just a few minutes’ pleasant walk from the main waterfront, is decorated in a rustic style and features several separate terraces with an intimate atmosphere. Since they work exclusively with fresh ingredients, certain dishes are not always available, but the menu offers plenty of appealing options, such as fish pâté, marinates, monkfish carpaccio, or dentex salad with potatoes, onions, and chickpeas. We recommend the house specialty: the traditionally oven-baked fish with vegetables and potatoes, as well as scampi in buzara sauce with an exceptionally rich flavour. They prepare it according to a recipe passed down through generations, while the grilled dentex steak is particularly delicious. The wine list includes the labels of the most renowned Croatian varieties from all regions, along with the house table wine. Corrado’s personnel may occasionally lack experience, but they are friendly and eager to please their guests.
