Gault&Millau's review 2026

Far from the hustle and bustle of the city, in a charming landscape, at Konoba Maslina, the Bojanić family captivates the guests with authentic Dalmatian dishes. This Hvar oasis is located on a hill in the village of Vrisnik, and is reached by a winding macadam road. It is surrounded by olive groves, and its rustic decor blends in with the surroundings. The terrace of the tavern offers a beautiful view of the nearby villages and islands. The ambiance is especially romantic at sunset. The menu emphasizes traditional Dalmatian food. To start we recommend the octopus salad or homemade fish pâté. They also offer various dishes baked under the peka (a baking bell) on open fire. Lamb and veal, but the octopus with vegetables and potatoes is a real summer treat. Please note that, given the length of preparation, dishes baked under the peka must be ordered in advance. Konoba Maslina is also worth a visit for their škartoceti – an old-fashioned dish, once prepared only for festive occasions that you cannot find anymore on the Adriatic gastronomic scene. These beef steak rolls filled with finely chopped herbs, bacon and spices are prepared for several hours, and the result is a juicy Dalmatian feast. The dessert menu is in line with the philosophy of the place, so you can sweeten your taste buds with the cake of the day, homemade ice cream or powerful figs aged in Prošek (the Dalmatian sweet wine) served with vanilla ice cream. Another detail makes Maslina different from other places you’ll visit – you won’t hear music here. Guests come precisely to listen to nature and indulge in a truly authentic experience.
