Gault&Millau's review 2026

Located outside the center of Novi Vinodolski, surrounded by vineyards and lush forest, Konoba Studec offers a quieter and more relaxed dining experience compared to the bustling seaside restaurants. With wooden tables, rustic benches, and a spacious terrace overlooking greenery, the restaurant has a charming countryside atmosphere. It is an ideal spot for those looking to enjoy hearty traditional cuisine, good local wines, and the tranquility of nature away from tourist crowds. The menu focuses primarily on meat dishes, especially excellent steaks such as T-bone, Fiorentina, and Tomahawk, as well as grilled specialties and game. Guests will also find fish dishes, platters of prosciutto and local cheeses, homemade soups, gnocchi, and other comforting classics. Steaks are Studec’s true specialty - well-aged, grilled to perfection, and rich in flavor. Larger groups often choose lamb or veal cooked under the traditional peka lid, ideal for sharing and wonderfully juicy. For lovers of traditional “spoon dishes,” the Vinodol maneštra, a hearty regional vegetable stew, is highly recommended. The wine list features local varieties such as Žlahtina from Pavlomir, Malvasia, rosé wines from Vinodol and Istria, along with Cabernet Sauvignon, Sansigot, Muscat wines, and several sparkling options. Their most praised dessert is tiramisu, although the chocolate soufflé is also a favorite.
