A typical coastal tavern, Tramerka is renowned as a place where guests come to eat “like at home.” It is located in the old part of Volosko, beneath characteristic stone arches and among old houses, giving it an authentic Mediterranean atmosphere. It is not a classic restaurant with a fixed menu, but rather a living spot that follows the sea, the seasons, and the local community. Its offer is based on what the sea provides that day, products from the city market of Opatija, ingredients sourced from small family farms, especially from the slopes of Mount Učka, as well as what they produce themselves. They are best known for fresh fish and seafood, combined with high - quality olive oil and herbs. Their ray fish stew (gregada) has a deep “sea-like” flavour, with a slightly gelatinous texture due to the type of fish. One of their most consistent dishes is bonito tartare, while homemade pasta with mussels best reflects their kitchen philosophy: quality ingredients and simple preparation - mussels in a light sauce based on white wine and stock. Meat plays a secondary role; grilled dishes and occasional stews are offered, with their most famous meat dish, a steak stuffed with thyme and garlic. With every dish, the staff recommends wines from a rich selection of Istrian Malvasia and Kvarner Žlahtina.
