Gault&Millau's review 2026

In the heart of the medieval town of Mošćenice, on the eastern slopes of Učka, Konoba Tu Tamo attracts guests with its authentic ambiance, panoramic views, and quality seasonal cuisine. The tavern, located within the walls of the old town, is accessed through narrow stone streets, and its terrace overlooks the sea and the islands of Cres and Krk. Owners, the couple Tina Zobec and Damjan Dražul have turned their passion for gathering, food, and wine into a gastronomic project. Guests often feel as if they are coming to someone’s home rather than a hospitality establishment. The kitchen is rooted in coastal tradition, emphasizing seafood, with some meat options. They use only homemade pasta and bread, with vegetables sourced from their own garden or small family farms, and the fish is catch of the day. Notable appetizers include lightly baked škripavac cheese and smoked anchovies served with arugula, fruit, and onion marmalade. A particularly interesting dish is seafood lasagna with blue fish ragout, škripavac, and confit tomatoes from the garden. Roasted lamb is very tasty, while their desserts have a nearly fine-dining character: mini cakes with caramel, lemon, and raspberry are visually appealing but not too heavy. Along with a warm interior and delicious food, the restaurant’s strongest asset is its professional but friendly and informal service.
