Gault&Millau's review 2026

The small and always full place on Skalinska Street is an unmissable spot for all lovers of traditional Zagreb/Zagorje štrukli (pieces of dough filled with cottage cheese, sour cream, and eggs). Whether they are local (often regular) customers or tourists searching the internet for the information on “where to eat local”, guests fill their small interior and lovely terrace every day. The concept is simple: you can choose between boiled or baked štrukli, and then decide on the filling. In addition to the classic savoury ones with cheese, which are the basis of the offer, La Štruk has also become known for its creative versions, such as those with truffles, smoked paprika or pumpkin seeds. For lovers of sweets, there are also variants with plums, blueberries or pears and toasted almonds. Each portion is made only when you order it, so you have to wait about twenty minutes, but that is just proof that everything here is fresh. Since last year, La Štruk has also its own souvenir shop, where they sell handmade figurines and other unique souvenirs that refer to the tradition of making štrukli.
