Gault&Millau's review 2026

Located in the idyllic surroundings of the heritage hotel of the same name, on the waterfront of beautiful Sutivan, Lemongarden is a fine-dining restaurant that will delight you with its food and service. But we must immediately point out that during the peak season it is very difficult to reserve a table, because they are always full, primarily with guests staying at their hotel. Therefore, you should try much earlier, especially if you want a table right by the sea, with a view of the boats moored at your feet, while Split can be seen in the distance. The menu itself, which changes regularly, says that these are inventive, structured dishes that require a great knowledge of modern culinary techniques. But the focus of the menu remains on top quality, local ingredients expertly used by chef Ante Udovičić. Among the appetizers, we highlight the oysters, served with a mint and ginger emulsion and a citrus, yuzu and lemon mousseline. This extremely refreshing combination complements the natural taste of the raw oysters. We then tried their special tagliatelle carbonara, which uses scampi tails instead of pancetta, or rather guanciale, but everything else is the same. A creative dish with unusual but finely balanced flavours. The choice of the main courses depends on your preferences, from monkfish and squid or lamb and veal, with the indispensable Wagyu beef steak. But each dish will surprise you with bold combinations, fillings and sauces, not to mention the superb presentation on the plate. We are pleased that Lemongarden also serves some traditional Dalmatian dishes such as pašticada (braised beef), in a finely spiced powerful sauce. We had no more room for dessert, but their “best lemon tart” is always a good recommendation. Professional staff and an extensive wine list with leading Croatian and world labels, along with a selection of sparkling wines and champagne, are more reason to visit Lemongarden, where you will have a first-class gourmet experience.
