There are few restaurants that can justify such a demanding name, but Mali Raj (Little Paradise) in Bol on Brač is one of them. A real little oasis of greenery, flowers, and even lawns, and beautifully placed tables create a truly magical ambiance. As soon as you enter this fairy-tale garden, you will forget about the crowds and heat of the nearby Zlatni Rat, one of the most famous Croatian beaches, which is a real anthill in season. The best place to sit is under the olive tree canopy in the lower part of the garden. Mali Raj offers Dalmatian cuisine, which they prepare well. We recommend trying the grilled fish from the daily catch, perfectly cooked, juicy and seasoned with a little olive oil. And the fish is a must-have with boiled Swiss chard and potatoes, the most traditional Dalmatian side dish. We started our lunch with classic tuna tartare and excellent sea bream carpaccio, cut into slightly thicker slices, with the meat of a firm texture that revealed the freshness of the fish. We continued with gnocchi with prawns and zucchini sauce and mussels on a buzara. Both dishes were fragrant and delicious. We stayed with fish for the main course as well. The juicy grilled tuna steak was pink on the inside, with a nice dark crust, and the traditional fried squid with fries was crispy and not at all greasy, which confirmed that the kitchen pays attention to food preparation. At Mali Raj, you will be welcomed by the friendly personnel that will be at your service at all times. The restaurant is also known as a place for exclusive weddings, not only in Croatia but also abroad, and more and more foreigners have celebrated here the beginning of their common life. Once you come, you will know why.
