Amidst the almost surreal beauty of the Istrian landscape lies the historic Stancija Meneghetti, today a luxurious resort with a hotel, private villas, a wine cellar, spa & wellness facilities, a beach and lounge bar, and a fine-dining restaurant. Surrounded by olive groves and vineyards, the estate embodies quiet luxury and laid-back elegance, celebrating Istria’s rich natural and gastronomic heritage while also providing a romantic setting for weddings and special events. Chef Ante Miletić has created an enticing menu where choosing just a few dishes proves almost impossible – you simply want to try everything. The restaurant is expected to remain open throughout the whole year, allowing both locals and off-season visitors to indulge in these culinary delights. The personnel are professional and educated and by presenting the food they care about all the details. The menu highlights creative combinations of seafood, vegetables from the estate’s own garden or local farms, homemade pasta, premium cuts of meat, local cheeses, and carefully designed desserts with intriguing flavours. Among the dishes we tasted, standouts included the trenette (pasta) with sea urchin, shrimp tartare, and crispy quinoa – a true burst of the sea – as well as a dessert masterpiece: apple and chamomile millefeuille, paired with bay leaf ice cream and a dusting of black olive powder. Each dish is a harmonious blend of tradition and modernity, with chef Miletić showcasing Istria’s greatest treasure – the fusion of its coastal and inland flavours.
