Gault&Millau's review 2026

The main asset of the restaurant Na moru (At the sea) is its beautiful terrace, so close to the sea that guests feel immersed in the blue waters of the western coast of Cres. Located on the Valun waterfront with a view of the bay and harbor, it has been run as a family restaurant since the early 1990s by Ivan and Martina Krivičić. Their kitchen focuses on fresh fish and seafood, most often grilled but also prepared in cooked dishes with homemade pasta, risottos, and salads. The offer is based on the daily catch from local fishermen, a classic “sea-to-table” approach typical of small island restaurants. Grilled fish best represents their cuisine, prepared simply with salt, olive oil, and fire. One of the most praised dishes is scampi buzara style, rich but not too heavy, with fresh, sweet scampi and an aromatic sauce of garlic, wine, and parsley, perfect for dipping bread. The wine list complements the dishes, featuring predominantly white wines such as Istrian Malvasia and Sauvignon Blanc, while red wine recommendations include Istrian Teran.
