Gault&Millau's review 2026

Restaurant Nada is located in the old center of the picturesque town of Vrbnik on the eastern side of the island. For more than fifty years it has been serving food as well as the wines from its own production. The menu is based on simple Mediterranean specialties and caters to fish lovers, meat lovers, and vegetarians alike. Nada’s greatest asset is its beautiful terrace with rustic wooden tables, offering a breathtaking view of the Vrbnik bay. The restaurant’s interior combines wood and stone, creating a pleasant atmosphere, while the staff is international. Their cold brut sparkling wine is a pleasant aperitif to start dinner, which included a selection of cold meat and fish starters: fresh oysters, tuna tartare, fish pâté, octopus salad, and beef carpaccio with leafy greens and Parmesan. As a warm starter, we recommend šurlice pasta with seafood such as mussels, clams, scampi, and scallops. The sauce was flavorful and complemented the slightly overcooked pasta well. Traditional Krk šurlice can also be enjoyed with meat ragù. For main courses, we recommend sea bream fillet with a nicely crispy skin, served with a classic Adriatic side dish—Swiss chard and boiled potatoes. If available, try povitica for dessert, their modern version of a traditional Krk cake. In summer, the pleasant dinner atmosphere at Nada is sometimes enhanced by live jazz performances, while reservations are recommended.
