Gault&Millau's review 2026

The family restaurant Orca is located on the Rovinj’s peripheral road and it has a spacious parking lot. The large terrace and the classic restaurant interior have been the same for years. The staff are experienced and pay enough attention to each guest. The restaurant is known for its local, traditional cuisine. They have fresh fish daily, which is displayed on ice in a glass display case, and the menu is extensive, so everyone will find something to their taste. Orca is mostly visited by locals, very often businessmen who bring their partners here. But there are also tourists, especially in the summer months. This time we ordered mixed fried fish with tartare sauce. The generous portion included scampi, squid and several larger pieces of white fish. We expected Italian fritto misto, but the dish actually consisted of fried squid rings and scampi and fish à la parisienne. As a side dish, we received some excellent cabbage, presented in the form of a cake. The standard scampi risotto was tasty, but could have been served a little more attractively. We liked the chocolate soufflé the most, beautifully soft on the inside so that the chocolate oozed out. It was accompanied by vanilla ice cream and fresh strawberries in a beautiful and delicious composition. Orca is still a restaurant with reliable cuisine, where the price-quality ratio is correct.
