Restaurant Fortica, located on the edge of the town square with a beautiful view of the Kvarner Bay, is decorated in a rustic style. The terrace in natural shade is especially pleasant in the summer, and the restaurant’s open kitchen is an attractive stage for Željko Markus, chef and owner of Fortica, and his staff, when they prepare local specialties and present local winemakers. The friendly waiters will be happy to present you with the daily offer of fresh seasonal ingredients. Octopus, boškarin (Istrian beef), shrimp, slow-cooked meat, juicy steak, roasts, porcini mushrooms, asparagus, truffles and cottage cheese, are just some of the specialties that are always prepared excellently in this restaurant. For an appetizer, try the homemade ravioli with pumpkin cream and Adriatic shrimp. Among the main dishes, we highlight boškarin cheeks with gnocchi in a fine, thick sauce and juicy steak with generously grated fresh truffle. A special experience is the veal shank slowly roasted for hours, which simply falls off the bone and melts in your mouth. The wine list offers labels from Istria, Dalmatia and Slavonia. Delicious and fresh traditionally prepared dishes, consistent quality, pleasant atmosphere, fast and friendly service - these are the reasons why guests happily return.
