Gault&Millau's review 2026
Gourmet Restaurant
Pepper & Choco is located in the old town of Korčula. On the outdoor terrace, in front of the amazing architecture, along the historic arcades, there are the tables protected by large umbrellas. Out of season, or when it rains, guests can enjoy the nicely decorated interior. This cosy bistro serves breakfast, brunch, lunch and dinner, and has excellent ice cream and cakes. The menu is extremely creative, and the offer and the presentation of the dishes, made from local and seasonal ingredients, are different from the usual. We tried the savoury version of Paris-Brest, the choux pastry filled with guacamole, smoked buffalo mozzarella, fried egg and salad that delighted us just like the salted fritters. Their black ravioli, filled with Adriatic prawns, served on a bisque, with crab meat, smoked mussels and prawns are among the most popular dishes. We liked the well-balanced flavours of the ravioli filling, the seafood and the sweet crab meat. Pepper & Choco has also some meat dishes, and the ćevapćići (small rolled patties of seasoned minced meat) served in a croissant with kajmak (clotted cream) are particularly appealing. Don't miss the dessert. Among the many tempting cakes, we chose their deconstructed Pavlova, in which sticks of crispy meringue are placed next to fresh berries with vanilla cream on a forest fruit coulis. They have a good wine list, mostly Croatian wines, and most of them are served by the glass. The personnel were friendly, but a little slow, maybe because of the heat. Pepper & choco is true refreshment on the Korčula gastronomic scene and you will always be happy to come back.
