Gault&Millau's review 2026

Located on the first floor of a boutique hotel, the Mediterranean restaurant Supetar is elegant and sophisticated, and it’s hard to decide whether the atmosphere is more pleasant: in its modernly decorated interior or on the terrace overlooking the Cavtat bay and the anchored yachts. Next to the hotel reception is an excellent bar dominated by a discreetly lit green bar. Right place for an aperitif before lunch or dinner, and learn all about local wines along the way. When the professional and friendly staff, who belong to the old school of hospitality, seats you at a table, it is best to listen to their recommendation of the fresh fish catch, although meat dishes are also on offer. The dishes are actually traditional, local, beautifully served and delicious because the main ingredients are top-notch. Fresh oysters from the nearby Mali Ston bay and tuna tartare are an excellent introduction to dinner. It would be a pity not to try the creamy risotto with scampi, toasted almonds and cheese mousse for an appetizer. The main course is a new delight: under a perfectly baked thin crust, there is juicy and firm sea bass fillet, with fennel and parsley powder. If you prefer meat, lamb chops are a good choice, and for dessert they offer a divine rožata in caramel sauce, with whipped cream and fresh mint leaves. Enjoy a cold local Pošip, and finish the dinner with a cocktail in the hotel garden with a swimming pool, surrounded by palm trees and oleanders.
