Gault&Millau's review 2026

The family restaurant Dubrovnik is a must-visit on the pedestrian-only island, with its large terrace located right by the sea. The ice display window shows the day’s fish catch, as the restaurant’s menu is based on Mediterranean dishes where the freshness of the ingredients really stands out. Although the menu features many meat dishes - from steak, Dalmatian mixed grill, ribeye, to veal roll filled with shrimp and feta cheese - it is best to accept the waiter’s recommendation. They will gladly introduce you to sensational fresh seafood: scorpionfish, cuttlefish, and grouper, octopus, lobsters, and Adriatic squids - and even wild tuna makes an appearance on the menu. Rinsed in the sea and grilled, lightly seasoned, each piece of these fish is exceptionally tasty, served with traditional chard and potatoes or with a salad of fresh tomatoes and cucumbers. The mussel buzara from nearby Ston, prepared in the “nonna style,” is not to be missed, especially when enjoyed with the homemade black bread with cuttlefish ink, which they bake in-house. All the dishes are beautifully arranged on plates, best tables are right by the sea, although the covered terrace also provides a romantic setting. The wine list is quite rich in quality local wines.
