Only a few restaurants in our country and in the world can boast that their menu is based almost exclusively on their own agricultural production, while the remaining ingredients are purchased from the best world producers. Just such a place is hidden in a modest courtyard in the very centre of Zagreb. At first glance, it is easy to overlook it, but a little curiosity and a spirit of exploration pays off many times over. This is one of the oldest healthy food restaurants in the city, founded on macrobiotic and vegan principles. Their dishes are captivating at first glance - the plates are full of colours, textures and harmonious combinations, and the flavours are thoughtful, layered and surprisingly rich. Here, healthy eating is not seen as a limitation, but as a creative challenge. On the menu, you will find classics such as original Japanese Udon noodles from Shiga Prefecture, a variety of daily macrobiotic plates and imaginative tofu and seitan dishes. But a special surprise is hidden beyond the printed menu – great reinterpretations of traditional Croatian dishes such as sarma (sour cabbage leaves usually filled with minced meat and rice), stuffed peppers or beans. These dishes may not stand out on paper, but they are part of the daily menu, as regulars know very well. Along with the carefully designed menu comes an equally carefully selected drinks menu – various types of tea, fresh smoothies and coffee specialties, as well as a smaller but selected selection of craft beers and organic wines. All together, this place makes the perfect choice for a healthy, light and inspiring lunch in the middle of the workday.
