Winery presentation by Gault&Millau
At Iločki Podrumi (Cellars of Ilok), it is often said that their wines reflect the strength of the Danube, a microclimate rich in sunshine, and the unique vineyard positions of Vukovo and Principovac, which yield exceptional Graševina. They are especially proud of their Royal Traminer, served at the coronation of Queen Elizabeth II and at the weddings of Princes Charles, William, and Harry. Their portfolio also includes Chardonnay, Cabernet Sauvignon, Rhine Riesling, Frankovka, Pinot Gris, and Pinot Blanc. From 360 hectares of vineyards, they produce both premium and predicate wines, while grapes for table wines are sourced from trusted growers. The winery operates two cellars, one of which dates back to the 15th century and remains a major attraction for visitors. The first Traminer vines were brought to the Principovac estate in the early 18th century by the Italian noble Odescalchi family. In the mid -19th century, a summer residence was built there, where today, from April to October, guests can enjoy desserts, wine - based cocktails, and the No.10 sparkling Traminer. Their Graševina Principovac and Chardonnay were awarded gold medals at Mundus Vini 2025 and bronze medals at the Decanter World Wine Awards. For a complete tasting experience, visitors are encouraged to stop by the renowned Stari Podrum restaurant in the heart of Ilok.
