Celebrations and gatherings - whether for a special occasion or simply for the joy of being together- have long been a hallmark of the Zajec family cellar in Zmajevac. There has never been a shortage of song, dancing, or fine wine, nor of friendship and collaboration with neighboring winemakers. Behind this Baranja story lie deep emotions and cherished childhood memories of owner Klara Zajec, who was born in Zmajevac. She passed her love for her homeland on to her husband, Danijel Zajec. Although they have lived in Germany for many years, they regularly return to Baranja for holidays. Enchanted by the beauty of the region and its wines, they purchased a small house in 2012 and transformed it into guest accommodation. As they renovated the cellar, they began offering local wines to their visitors, eventually purchasing grapes and producing their own wine. Soon after, they acquired a one-hectare vineyard. While Klara and Danijel still live in Germany and visit Zmajevac several times a year, their daughter Dhalia moved to Baranja nine years ago and dedicated herself fully to the family business. In their tasting room, which accommodates around twenty guests, visitors can sample six labels of premium wines - from dry to sweet - offering a comprehensive insight into their range.
