Winery presentation by Gault&Millau

Buhač wines are produced from grapes grown near the Danube, on soils ideally suited to viticulture, with each label bearing a protected designation of origin. The family business was founded by Ivan Buhač in 1998, and over the years he expanded the estate to around 30 hectares of vineyards planted with Graševina, Chardonnay, Traminer, Rhine Riesling, Cabernet, Pinot Blanc, and Merlot. Today, the winery produces approximately 20,000 liters annually, primarily premium wines that have received recognition at major international competitions such as Decanter. A new driving force in the business is Domagoj Buhač, an economist by profession. Eager to deepen his knowledge, he studied viticulture and winemaking extensively - even taking textbooks on holiday and treating them as seriously as university exams. Buhač wines can be found on the wine lists of many restaurants along the Adriatic coast and in Zagreb, but the most authentic experience is tasting them at their home cellar in Ilok.
