Winery presentation by Gault&Millau

Ivan Enjingi was a leader among the winemakers of the Zlatna dolina (Golden Valley) in many ways. Fifty years ago, he was the first small winemaker to bottle the wine, and as the first organic winemaker, he received the Eco label in 1985. His 1998 Venje brought Croatia the first Decanter in the category of blended white wines in 2004, and he is probably the only winemaker to have received a symphony as a gift. Davor Bobić, the director of the Varaždin Baroque Evenings, wrote the “Enjingi Wine Symphony in Four Movements” in his honour. It was performed on the stage of the Varaždin Croatian National Theatre in 2013. Ivan Enjingi’s family has been involved in winemaking for 130 years, and in the 1950s, he took over a vineyard with 2,000 vines and started his own venture. Today he has 50 hectares of vineyards, from which he annually produces 500,000 bottles of wine from the varieties of Graševina, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Pinot Gris, Traminer, Rizvanac, Cabernet and Cabernet Sauvignon. The tasting room can accommodate about a hundred people, and in addition to a tour of the winery and cellar, it offers an authentic wine and gastronomic experience, such as walks in the Papuk Nature Park and overnight stays in several apartments.
