Obitelj BOTA ŠARE
Owner : Bota Šare Oyster & Sushi barPresentation
In a small Dalmatian town on Pelješac, the family story of Bot Šare was born. It was started more than 4 decades ago by Božidar Šare, called Bota and his wife Tanja, when they opened a restaurant in Mali Ston that offered oysters and other shellfish from the Bay of Mali Ston. The beautiful, spacious restaurant is still one of the leading gastronomic destinations in Dalmatia today. At that time, parents could not even imagine that their six children would write a new chapter in the family story, by creating the Bota Šare Oyster & Sushi bar brand, which is especially strong in Split and Dubrovnik today. Following global trends and changes in the gastronomic scene, they combined fresh, raw Adriatic fish and seafood, which they have always worked with, with the Japanese technique of preparing sushi and other Asian specialties. Although it seemed to be a completely logical business decision, it took courage and self-confidence to deviate from the conventional path of the domestic tradition of fish preparation in the direction of discovering new and then still unusual raw flavors. Today, daughter Antonela runs Split's Bota Šare Oyster & Sushi bar, which, according to connoisseurs and lovers of Japanese food, can compete with the best sushi restaurants. Equally successful in Dubrovnik is the second Bota Šare Oyster & Sushi bar under the leadership of his son Pera, who a few years ago entered a new gastronomic adventure on the island of Šipan, opening the Bowa restaurant. And in Zagreb, Bota Šare is one of the leading fish restaurants in the city, which, in addition to the classic offer, also has a special Oyster & Sushi menu. As a representative of this unique, successful domestic brand, Bota Šare Oyster & Sushi bar in Split has earned the Gault & Millau Croatia trophy Best POP for 2026.
